The Goldenaires are the black women who were in Freedom House when it started and since. They still to this day are inspiring and sharing their stories from back then. Otto Snowden and Takako G. Salvi nominated the Goldenaires for the National Volunteer Award through the dates July 14-18, 1972.

The Roxbury Goldenaires were active members in Roxbury by contributing and creating events for the community to come together and teach people of all ages how to help make a safe place for everyone. This was their schedule in 1990.

This displays the roster of the Goldenaires of the 1979 whose names were almost lost in time. This shows how the goldenaires have been working together with Freedom House to bring peace within the community. We need to commemorate their ideas and legacies they have left behind for the upcoming generations to continue making our communities a better place.
